Happy New Year!

I've been working with Metal Clay and I love it. A few months ago I participated in an "oops exchange", where I received a piece from someone who had created a metal clay piece they did not like.

Here is the before picture the oops piece I received:

Here is my finished piece:

6.6 grams of pure silver each. I personally find them too heavy for earrings, but I think they are beautiful as a pendant. I'm keeping one for myself and the other I'm giving to the lady that started the earrings.

I hope everyone has a great year!

Every Closed Door Brings New Opportunities

Last month I was pretty bumbed out because the Store that sells my jewelry is closing at the end of Febuary. I was asked to pick up my jewelry because she was going to mark everything down 60%. I figured I'd start looking for a new place, but Last week I was gone on a five day cruise. When I got back I had a call from someone wanting to buy a necklace like they had seen someone else wear and she went tracked down the store where it was purchased and that led her to me. Great! Unfortunatly the store is still closing, but I did manage to sell the lady two necklaces. :)

Tonight I have a meeting with the local PMC guild, so I decided to wear some of the jewelry I make, I put on one of my "I Believe" necklaces, little heart earrings and my heart ring. And then I went to lunch. The man behind the counter was really impressed with my jewelry, he turned out to be the owner of the restaurant/bakery. He first asked what I was wearing around my neck... I said, 'My necklace', then when I was paying, he noticed my ring and asked, 'did your boyfriend give you that ring', I nodded 'no', he asked again, 'did your husband give you that ring?', 'nope' I replied, 'I made them'. He went on to tell me that he really liked my jewelry and would like to sell it. He showed me a book case next to the register where he had jewelry and a few other items for sell. He said he would clear the top shelf (which luckly is at eye level) and would like for my jewelry to be on the shelf that is at eye level. We quickly agreed on a consignment price and I will be delivering some jewelry tomorrow. :)

YAY!!!

Sea Horse Earrings

I think these earrings look like a sea horse. I have never posted any of my wired designs for sale online, but I think I'll post these on my etsy site.

Precious Metal Clay

Last night I worked on a beautiful heart piece, it WAS so pretty... but it didn't last. My 2 year old niece saw me working on it with a paint brush, and while I let the design dry, she went to look at it with, grabbed the paint brush and ruined the design. Oh well.

Here is a picture of one of my pmc pendants that I did about two weeks ago, Its currently my favorite piece, reminds me of water and I love it!

Have a great day!

School....

I sure could use a break from school! Spring Break wasn't very relaxing, I had guests over and I made a QuinceaƱera (15th) cake - I only had 3 days off from work and that time was spent buying stuff I needed for the cake. Didn't have enough time to study for my Biology exam that I took last night... I'm worried that I won't do too good... I keep telling myself I need to focus on my classes, but sometimes it's hard when I'd rather be playing with beads or PMC.

I need to work on updating my website my website.

I worked on my nephews website a little bit, http://www.rgvgreenhouse.com. I hope he does great!

I also need to work on a new website for Crystal Box Studio.... She has great stuff, but her website doesn't reflect that.
